We learned a lesson this weekend, as a family, on not taking anything for granted - even free shows at the local library!

(a little lesson for the kids, a little lesson for us)

A little Sunday inspiration.

This weekend, we stumbled, last minute, on an opportunity to catch a free entertainment show at our local library. I practically had to beg my children to come along.

But here’s the thing: it ended up being fabulous; really entertaining and clever. I may have dragged all three of my boys there, to check the performer out, but the smiles we all left with made the push worthwhile.

Lesson learned: don’t take anything for granted – even free shows at your local library.

Incidentally,

I also caught a glimpse of my friend’s book, there, in my local town’s public library.

I met her online, through common physician channels. Her book was sitting there, in its place on a stand at the front, featured as a recommended read. I snapped a shot and sent it her way, to make her weekend slightly sweeter. She may not, in fact need it, based on the popularity of the book, but I sent it out all the same.

I don’t believe there’s quite such a thing, after all, as too much positivity thrown one’s way..

super cheesy gif I found & convinced myself to add in. Forgive me.

I wanted to also give a shoutout

to the actual performer: The Spoon Man, who not only cracks jokes and engages the audience in his funnies (like a stand-up would, only nicer), but also plays an instrument you wouldn’t really call ‘standard’.. a pair of spoons lined up against each other, played kind of like maracas. (also to the Tenafly Public Library, for throwing together events for our town!)

And here’s the sweet part: he donates a portion of his proceeds to St. Jude’s Hospital, inspired by his own daughter’s battle with cancer. But the best part of it all? That her battle was won!
