“Realizing I was increasingly turning into a cog within a system that’s minimized all the sacrifices I made to be there. Feeling like I was being stripped away of freedoms that should come with the level of my education.”
That was my response, to a physician who asked what made those of us not working clinically to seek out a non-clinical career.
Those were the main two drivers of my decision to reinvent what doctors can do with their degrees.
We’re not going to pave the path overnight, nor to lay down the foundation to innovative new fields in one fell swoop. It will happen gradually, over the decades that follow.
