I rummaged through old photos the other day, after interviewing Dr. Hala Sabry and feeling nostalgic about growing up in California.
The images in the pages of my albums took me back in time, to a place where I had much fewer worries, but also so many less of what I’ve built over the years.
It makes one wonder: is less really more?
An Old Friend Named Brad Click To Tweet
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyhoo, I came across this; a photo of a friend from my University days, Brad, who I lost touch with.
Funny story about him.
I was studying in medical school years later, and decided to take a break.
In the background, MTV tunes were blasting, with the music videos that accompanied the songs (I’m a dinosaur!). Well, yada yada yada, I look over and there, jammin’ on his guitar, was a person who I swore could only be Brad! And when the video came on again and again over the next few days, I became convinced it was my old friend.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sure enough, a quick search on whatever engine I used – way back when – confirmed that I was right. My jaw nearly dropped to the ground. Because my dear old friend, who had rocked out to songs in the dorms just a few years before, was now leading man in the rock group Linkin Park!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Is there more to this story? Not much.
I could pass on my analysis of our paths here, on recognizing my old friend on the tube. But instead, I’d like to acknowledge just how proud I am of what he has accomplished. It’s so freakin’ cool al that we can do in this life.
