It may seem intuitive that you should want people to remember you, but there’s an additional reason, when building in the digital space.
There’s simply a lot of noise.
And in a room full of noise, you want your voice to stand out.
In a room full of noise, you want your voice to stand out.
Many times, it starts right at that magical moment your potential followers, clients, or patients lay eyes on you; & it’s often your name they see 1st.
Now, when I consult with individual professionals (namely physicians) who want to build an online personal brand, this isn’t always a possibility. Many of them want to expand in their career and build intellectual property, online, that’s built around their name, degree included.
At the Harvard Writer’s Conference, where I truly enjoyed dispensing advice for 3 straight years (as guest faculty.. who me??), pros of the trade regularly lectured about doctors building with their full name and degree; DanaCorrielMD, as would be the case with me).
For me, that’s great advice for academicians, or anyone that is looking to build a more conservative presence.
Or simply to stake claim to online property that’s unquestionably yours. And then build from there.

For anyone who’s looking to be a bit more.. edgy.. or to connect with the public in a special way, consider branding factors that will have them coming back for more. There’s nothing wrong with doing things a little bit differently.
