My day started out at the gym, walking up steps – many, many of them – doing weights, and sweating on the elliptical. I left beet red, but ready for better shape. Coffee making continues, and I still keep it at decaf, sweetening it a bit with monkfruit, which are recently started doing to keep the carbs down. Let me know if you sweeten your coffee and if so, with what.

I earn this next one. Steak, salmon, other goodies, a familiar table, good friends, great discussion, and zero disappointments.

I do try and keep things low-carb… until something like this – an incredible kimchi fried rice – shows up.
Then suddenly, we’re making exceptions and not asking questions.

No, but seriously, I had but just a few bites. And don’t regret a bit of it.

In another of this weekend’s update, I rushed to get my kid to the soccer field, and discovered that the side effects of rushing may include:
wearing whatever is closest to the door.

Another snippet – and some added commentary – of my weekend days.

Weekend coverage continues.

A few hours in Piermont before our son‘s soccer game turned into a full experience: from farmers market wanderings to pier-side stories and art that takes you off your path for just a few minutes.

It’s kind of outing you don’t plan, but always remember (especially when you’ve got a video like this to remember it by).
